We believe that being outside of a car shouldn't make anyone a second-class citizen. If you've had a poor experience walking, biking, or taking transit, we're setting out to change that. Especially in St. Louis, despite the existence of public transportation, the city is still car dependent. This leads to increased pedestrian deaths, carbon emissions, and an urban wasteland to accommodate cars. Furthermore, the flight to the suburbs allowed by cars has left inner cities impoverished and segregated. Vacancies litter the city as neighborhoods were divested from. Through educating the student population and advocating to our local representatives and university administration, SLU On the Move promotes urbanist principles within our college campus and our city. We hope to build a safe, prosperous, and united city. Join us for bike rides, book discussions, guest lectures, meetings with our aldermen, and fellowship with like-minded students!
In collaboration with the Center for Social Action Policy Pods, we work with local politicians and campus leadership to work towards a better community.
SLU On the Move is the hub for SLU's bike culture. Find people to ride with and help with bike maintenance. We organize group rides and participate in other local rides.
